Here at Tierra De Cabros we strive to make our products top quality ingredients, listed below are some of the materials used in our handmade toiletry products. 

Aloe Vera Gel has been used for thousands of years. Aloe Vera gel is widely used on burns for it's healing, soothing and moisturizing qualities. 

Avocado Oil  It contains vitamins A, C, D and E, proteins, beta-carotene, lecithin to name a few. 

Behentrimonium Methosulfate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol is used as a emulsifier in some products 
Arrowroot Powder used as an ingredient in powders, this nutritious starch from the root of the plant was used by aboriginal peoples to heal wounds from poisoned arrows (thus the name).
Baking Soda -a very useful product used in everything from baking to cleaning is one of the main ingredients in fizzing bath seltzers and used in bath salts.
Beeswax a product of honeybees, beeswax is oil soluble and has a high melting point. Used as a thickener/hardener in lip balms, lotion bars and soaps. 

C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate is an emollient that attributes a non greasy feel to our products. 

Candelilla Wax is used at times instead of beeswax. 

Carbomer is used as a gelling agent in our lotions. 

Cetyl Alcohol A fatty alcohol derived from palm oil used as an emollient, emulsifier and thickener.
Citric Acid a crystalline powder originally derived from citrus fruit, now produced by fermentation of glucose derived from starch, widely used in foods and cosmetics.
Clays Used in natural cosmetics for its elasticity and absorption qualities.
Corn Starch is used in powders and to help improve the feel in some products.
Cocoa Butter A ingredient used in lotions, lip balms and butters. Very Rich and moisturizing with a light scent of chocolate. 

Cyclomethicone is a silicone that gives formulations a quick dry time and it contains light conditioning qualities. 

Dimethicone is a silicone that exhibits some barrier protection for the skin and we use it for its

assistance in applications.
Disodium EDTA is a chelating agent used to keep metal ions at bay in formulas containing water 

Epsom Salts are commonly used in bath salt preparations.
Fractionated Coconut Oil A clear, thin liquid oil that is non-greasy and rapidly absorbs into the skin.
Glycerin is a sweet, thick, clear liquid, use in our toiletry products for its humectants and emollient effects.
Glyceryl Monostearate this emulsifier is used in the same manner as the cetyl alcohol. 

Isopropyl Myristate is an emollient ester used for the nice velvety feel it gives lotions. 

Jojoba Oil although called an oil, it is actually a liquid plant wax from the seeds. Similar to sebum, it is a valuable skin and hair care oil.
Lanolin is obtained from the wool of sheep, produced by their oil glands. Widely used in cosmetics and as is for skin care. A thick, creamy substance used for emolliency. 

Mango Butter  contains excellent moisturizing abilities for skin care. 

Monoi Oil   A  100% natural vegetable  blend that is infused with Tiare Flowers then extracted from the rich Tahitian Tumu (Cocos Nucifera) palm tree. 

Preservatives: Preservatives need to be added to toiletry products, to minimize the attack of Bacterial, Microbial and Fungal organisms of the product that may occur. 

Rice Bran Oil is rich in vitamins and proteins it also contains a great natural antioxidant. 

Sea Salt an important but very common ingredient used in some of our bath products.  

Sodium Sesquicarbonate is used as a water softener - contained in our bath salts. 

Sorbitol is added for its humectant's properties. 

Stearic Acid is used primarily as an emollient and as an emulsifier and thickener. 

Tapioca Starch is used in our products as a  binder and additive to our body powders for its smooth feeling. 

Triethanolamine this material is used as a ph balancer.  

Vitamin E is used for its antioxidant properties.

Although our products are formulated to be mild, please keep in mind that some ingredients may be irritating to the skin. Please discontinue use should this occur.
